Building Families and Communities

Saint John Baptist Church believes that church and family are two of the most important institutions in our society. They can forge a bond that is nearly inseparable. There are many definitions of family. There is a common thread to all of the definitions; that thread is purpose. A family protects, nurtures and provides. It is no wonder that the family is the primary source from which the culture is transmitted from one generation to the next. Building families and strengthening them is a critical effort. Without families and more importantly strong families, societies are vulnerable to challenges that will make life more difficult to manage. At Saint John there is a commitment to help families build strong foundations and to offer strategies for families to develop and practice healthy lifestyles (mental fitness, physical fitness, eating smart, and spiritual growth).

With strong families it is very possible to reach beyond our four walls to share with the communities the benefits of our teachings. Our outreach activities are more fully stated in the Outreach section of the website. However, it will be briefly stated here that we believe the health of our church is intricately tied to the stability of the communities in which we find ourselves. Saint John will continue to discover ways in the communities to strengthen individual and collective responsibilities. Saint John is a family-oriented church with a community perspective.
