A Church Anniversary Celebration
Remembering
When we remember things we automatically request our minds to work in reverse to recapture events that played a role in our past. Saint John Baptist Church 100th Anniversary Celebration has and will continue to call on its members to remember events that made the current year possible. In that effort they will be enriched from the experience of coming to know the wisdom of those who paved the foundation for the church as it now stands.
Rejoicing
Rejoicing is a great feeling. It has been defined as a feeling of great happiness, exultant; joyful and proud especially because of triumph or success. We have rejoiced and we will continue to rejoice in God who has, through His Son, Jesus the Christ, brought Saint John Baptist Church over roads that were curved and steep; high places that were filled with spikes, and valleys that knew no bottom. We are grateful to God for His love and for His Mercy and for His Grace. The Bible says, “Rejoice always” (1 Thessalonians 5:16). A couple of verses later it says, “. . . in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (v. 18). “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice” (Philippians 4:4).
Rededicating
When it seems that you have come to the end of your rope, you may be convinced that you can rest or give it up to another. Although that may have merit, it is good even when those moments dominate your thoughts that you find time to rededicate yourself. Saint John Baptist Church is always be anchored in the community that it serves. The needs of its existing members and new members will serve as a purpose for it to rededicate itself to the services of Christ. May Saint John Baptist Church always be charged to work faithfully for the salvation of all through Jesus Christ and in doing so it will find a sweet relief.
